Consideration Equals Success

“Considerate” may not be the first thought that comes to mind when describing a utility contractor, but for Kimmins, it is one we want to be known for. “Being considerate” is a core value on which we have built our company since our founding in 1923.

Simply put, considerate to us means always thinking about how our work affects the people we impact and interact with — while always being professional, polite, and respectful.

The special nature of our work requires that we be considerate. Utility contracting includes repairing and restoring essential services, such as power and water, which our communities depend on. Since our work often takes place right in people’s front yards and neighborhoods, the responsibility to demonstrate the highest level of respect, courtesy, and consideration is our paramount priority.

It is an understatement to say that it is a privilege to be a part of shaping and improving Tampa Bay communities. However, we recognize that our work can be a disturbance to local neighborhoods. So, we carefully plan our projects to minimize their impact, doing whatever we can do to be thoughtful to local residents and business owners in the process.

Similarly, for our public and private sector customers, we strive to be the company that is trusted to complete the job right, the first time, with as little disruption to the community as possible.

Finally, for our co-workers, being considerate means being alert, courteous, and professional to everyone and everything around you. The nature of our work can be loud, gritty and sometimes precarious. Therefore, it is imperative that we are meticulous about all things at all times.

On that note, we are always looking for considerate and thoughtful tradespeople to join our team. If this is the type of work environment where you’d like to be, please visit the Kimmins Career Page to learn more about our available positions.

On a final note, to express just how important being considerate is to us as a core value, we’ve created a special video on it as part of our 100th anniversary celebration this year. We invite you to take a look.
